RCSD Seeks Suspect for Fraud

Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott is requesting the community’s assistance in identifying a suspect wanted for fraud.

Sheriff Leon Lott stated that the suspect stole the victim’s credit card information and was able to clone a card to make purchases at Publix grocery stores on Friday, September 9, 2016:

·         2800 Rosewood Drive (Publix), 29205, the suspect purchased a gift card and toiletries totaling approximately $124.00

·         4840 Forest Drive (Publix), 29206, the suspect purchased a gift card and toiletries totaling approximately $131.00.

The Sheriff stated that the suspect made additional purchases totaling approximately $1,800.00 in Orangeburg and Lexington County.

The Sheriff continues to warn citizens to frequently check their  bank accounts and monthly statements.

Sheriff Leon Lott stated that the suspect is described as a white male in his late 40’s wearing a black shirt, and dark blue jeans. Sheriff Lott stated that the suspect was captured on video surveillance equipment (image below).

Sheriff Leon Lott is asking for assistance in identifying the suspect. To receive up to $1000 for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible, please call, email or text your anonymous tip to: Crimestoppers at 1-888-crimesc, or text “TIPSC plus your message” to CRIMES (274637).
