Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott announced the arrest of John Chandler Herring (DOB 2-18-74) in connection with the seizure of marijuana, growing materials and weapons.

Deputies from the Drug Suppression Team received a tip from the community that drugs were being dealt from 3415 Bluff Road – the Drug Suppression Team responded and upon a search of the residence found 38 marijuana plants, pill bottles and baggies containing marijuana and handguns, rifles and shotguns. Herring was arrested from the house (that he was renting) for cultivation of marijuana and transported to the Sheriff’s Department.

Sheriff Lott stated that this is another example of community involvement leading to our communities being free from drugs. Sheriff Leon Lott expresses his commitment of ridding the community of illegal drugs while encouraging citizens to report suspicious activity in their community because it takes the citizens and the Richland County Sheriff’s Department working to make our community safer.
