Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott announced the arrest of Charlie Redden Jr. (1289 Tumey Lane New Zion SC DOB 8-17-86) in connection with the seizure of $300,000 worth of cocaine. Sheriff Lott stated that undercover agents seized drugs and property totaling a value of $342,500.00.
Richland County undercover agents witnessed Redden conduct a drug deal at the corner of Hardscrabble Road at Clemson Road and conducted a traffic stop near the 200 Block of Holly Ridge on Redden’s 2005 BMW vehicle.
Sheriff Lott states that Redden attempted to elude officers on foot but was quickly apprehended. Agents found three wrapped packages in a plastic bag filled with cocaine (three kilos) valued at $300,000.00 on the floorboard of Reddens’ vehicle. Agents also seized marijuana valued at $500.00 that was found inside of the trunk of the vehicle. Reddens’ 2005 BMW was also seized valued at $42,000.00.
Sheriff Lott further stated that Charlie Redden was arrested and charged with trafficking cocaine over 400 grams and is being held at the Alvin S. Glen Detention Center. Sheriff Lott expresses his commitment of ridding the community of illegal drugs while encouraging citizens to report suspicious activity in their community because it takes the citizens and the Richland County Sheriff’s Department working to make our community safer.
