Stolen car - suspect caught on tape

James Sorci has been identified as the person in the video and responsible for the burglary and theft.  Anyone with information is asked to call crimestoppers 888-CRIME-SC.

Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott announced today the investigation into the burglary and theft of an automobile that occurred at Automax located at 7450 Two Notch Road on May 18, 2008 around 10:30 PM.

Investigators have obtained a still photograph of the suspect from video surveillance equipment at Automax – the photograph is of the suspect after he cut his way into the building through the garage door and then attempted to tamper with the video camera inside. Sheriff  Lott stated that after attempting to tamper with the video camera the suspect stole a 2003 White Pontiac Grand AM from the dealership. 

Anyone with information on the identity of the suspect or the location of the stolen car is asked to call crimestoppers at 888-559-tips (8477) or 888-CRIME-SC.  Crimestoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $1000 for information leading to the arrest of the suspect and the return of the stolen car.
