Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott announced that on May 13, 2008 Curtis Joyeux, Christopher Grim and Bowe Wimbush were arrested in connection with a disturbing chain of events that continues to affect our communities – gangs and guns. Sheriff Lott stated that on May 13, 2008 Joyeux, Grim and Wimbush video themselves smoking marijuana, drinking beer and driving around the Woodfield Community with pistols apparently looking for someone to confront and shoot. The video was recorded around 11:00 AM and at 11:20 AM the trio confronted a 20 year old victim in his front yard, who was in his car. The victim was able to flee in his car and the trio pursued him -- the victim’s tire blew out in the Woodfield Park Community and the trio cornered him, they ambushed him, opened fire on him and then fled. Sheriff Lott stated that patrol deputies located the vehicle that was used in the shooting at Windsor Shores Apartments shortly after the shooting – leading investigators to locate Joyeux, Grim and Wimbush in an apartment where they were arrested and transported to the Sheriff’s Department for interviews. Sheriff Lott stated that this is an example of the continued mentality of some of our youth that guns and gangs are acceptable. This case demonstrates that not only will guns and gangs not be tolerated but when you lie to the police about an ongoing investigation that you will be charged and held accountable for your actions. Arrested/charges – all are members of a gang:
