Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott announced today the arrest of Brandon L. Blocker DOB 9-17-86 in connection with a report by a concerned citizen who stated that someone had a gun in the Lincolnshire Community off Fairfield Road. 

Sheriff Lott stated that a patrol deputy witnessed a green mercury driving recklessly in the neighborhood (conducting a u-turn and loosing control such that the car left the roadway on Lincolnshire Drive) and conducted a traffic stop on the car. Deputies made contact with Blocker who was driving the car and located crack cocaine and a pistol -- Blocker was arrested and charged with reckless driving, possession with intent to distribute cocaine and unlawful carrying of a pistol.  

Sheriff Lott commends the citizen who called in the tip and also the Lincolnshire Community for being one of our most active neighborhood associations and crime watches in Richland County. Sheriff Lott wants to remind all citizens the importance of calling in concerns or tips -- no matter how small the citizen thinks the information may be, it may be just enough information to stop a crime from happening or apprehending someone who may have committed a crime already. Citizens seeing suspicious activity in their communities should call the Sheriff’s Department at 576-3000 or 911 immediately – citizens can report tips to crimestoppers at 888-559-tips(8477)  anonymously and receive a cash rewards for information leading to an arrest.
