Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott announced today the arrest of Pedro Brown (DOB 6-14-73 of 409 Richcreek Road, Columbia 29223).   Sheriff Lott stated that on May 11, 2008 Brown stole his mother's 2005 Mitsubishi Gallant from 607 Old Manor Road and today around 1:30 PM the vehicle was spotted on Broad River Road at River Drive. Sheriff Lott added that deputies responded and made contact with the vehicle driven by Brown however Brown fled in the car leading deputies on a short vehicle pursuit that ended with deputies deploying “stop sticks” at I-20 and Bush River Road. Brown was arrested for grand larceny, driving under suspension and fail to stop for blue lights and sirens – he was transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention where he awaits a bond hearing.
