RCSD seeks suspect for MVT

Sheriff: Vehicle Recovered Suspect still at Large.

Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott is requesting the community’s assistance identifying a suspect wanted for motor vehicle theft.  

On Monday, February 27, 2017 just before 1:00 PM Richland County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a motor vehicle theft at 2220 Broad River Road (Circle K), 29210. The victim went inside the business and that’s when the suspect (still image attached to this release) jumped inside and stole her vehicle. The Sheriff stated that the vehicle was located by the West Columbia Police Department a few hours later on the 200 block of North 12th Street; the victim’s purse and cell phone were missing from the vehicle. 

The suspect is described as a white male, medium build, dark hair, possible facial hair, wearing a dark sweatshirt with South Carolina written in white, and wearing blue jeans. The Sheriff stresses the importance of securing your vehicle at all times and to be sure to keep all valuables out of plain view. The Sheriff asks that anyone with information on the identity of the suspect or information about this crime should call, email or text your anonymous tip to:
