Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott announced today the investigation into an attempted armed robbery that occurred on June 1, 2008 at approximately 11:45 PM (at Nancy’s Nook at 3311 Broad River Road) where a black male suspect entered the store and pulled a black in color handgun in an attempt to rob the clerk. 

Sheriff Leon Lott stated that the suspect attempted to rob the location but fled on foot without stealing anything to the car wash located next to the store where a black in color Honda Civic with tinted windows, unknown tag, was waiting for the suspect. Sheriff Leon Lott stated that the suspect got into the vehicle and left the location but that video surveillance equipment captured the incident (note that the video plays fast so you may need to slow the video down to get the full affect).

Sheriff Leon Lott added that anyone with information on the identity of those responsible is asked to call 888-CRIME-SC or go to www.sccrimestoppers.com to receive a cash reward for information leading to the arrest of those responsible in this cases and any crime.
