Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott announced today the investigation
into the armed robbery that occurred on June 22, 2008 at 8300 Two
Notch Road (the Wingate Inn). Sheriff Lott stated that an unknown
black male entered the motel armed with a pistol, jumped the counter
and demanded money. Sheriff Lott added that the clerk did exactly
what she should and complied with the suspects demands and the
suspect fled on foot with the money without anyone being hurt.
