Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott announces Free Self Defense classes for women.

Sheriff Lott is proud to announce that the Department will offer a free Women's Self-defense Course to women who are eager to learn how to physically protect themselves in the event of an attack. The class will be on July 19, 2008 from 8:30 A.M. - 12:30 PM at the Richland County Sheriff's Department Region 1 Headquarters which is located at Lower Richland High School. 

Sheriff Lott states that this course is specifically designed for women in hopes that it will raise awareness to being on your guard at all times and taking the opportunity away from the criminals. Sheriff Lott is offering this class FREE and hopes that all women will take advantage of this opportunity. Young ladies that are heading off to college could greatly benefit with the course along with helpful campus safety tips. 

Anyone interested in the Richland County Sheriff's Department Self Defense Course should contact Lieutenant Heidi Scott at 803.576-3113 to get registered or email hscott@rcsd.net.  The class will be limited to the first 60 women that register.
