RCSD releases additional details on Black Pearl Nightclub shooting

Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott releases additional details on the Black Pearl Nightclub shooting. This incident occurred on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at 2219 Broad River Road when deputies responded to a shots fired call.

Deputies located two male victims, Trevonne Judge (DOB: 10/07/1994) and Torance Peoples (DOB: 12/20/1991) were pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators were able to determine that there was an argument amongst a group of individuals, the two decedents, Travontay Myers (DOB: 06/13/1989) wanted out of Allendale County on a probation violation, Marcus Robinson (DOB: 06/10/1991) wanted out of Kershaw County for possession of a stolen vehicle, and Jumanne Evins (DOB: 05/05/1994) charged with larceny.

The Sheriff stated that this incident began inside the club when a stripper’s money went missing. Myers was accused of stealing the money; they all went outside and an argument ensued with shots being fired. Guns were found by the two who died at the scene, Robinson suffered multiple gunshot wounds and fled the area; he was located at a Charlotte Hospital being treated for gunshot wounds. The weapons found at the scene were a match for the ballistics that wounded Robinson; this was confirmed through the Richland County Sheriff’s Department Forensics Firearms Examiner.

Judge showed Robinson and Myers that he had a gun, that’s when Robinson retrieved his weapon from his car as the argument continued. Witnesses gave accounts of the shooting stating that it occurred simultaneously by both sides, with multiple shots being fired. Further investigation led investigators to arrest Evins as the person who stole the dancer’s money setting off the chain of events.

Sheriff Leon Lott stated that all the evidence was presented to the 5th Circuit Solicitors Office who determined that no charges would be filed at the time. The Sheriff is asking that anyone who has not come forward previously to do so; Richland County Sheriff’s Department investigators are seeking additional information about this incident, you can remain anonymous by doing the following:
