RCSD Seeks Suspect for Fraud

Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott is requesting the community’s assistance in identifying a suspect wanted for fraud. 

Sheriff Leon Lott stated that the suspect stole the victim’s credit card information and was able to clone a card to make a purchase at the Circle K gas station located at 3004 Broad River Road, 29210, on Wednesday, December 14, 2016. The suspect (images attached to this release) purchased two cartons of cigarettes valued at approximately $117.00.

Sheriff Leon Lott stated that it is unclear when or where the victims’ credit card information was compromised. The Sheriff continues to warn against those who are out to steal your credit card information; remember to be aware of your surroundings and who may be watching over your shoulder. The Sheriff suggests that you continue to keep track of all your cards and receipts to compare your monthly statements.    

Sheriff Leon Lott is asking for assistance in identifying the suspect. To receive up to $1000 for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible, please call, email or text your anonymous tip to: Crimestoppers at 1-888-crimesc, or text “TIPSC plus your message” to CRIMES (274637).
