Sheriff: Man with 13 Convictions for Burglary Arrested Again…for Burglary
Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott announced the arrest of Joseph Joyner Freeman (DOB: 07/31/1968) charged with burglary 2nd and larceny.
Sheriff Leon Lott stated that on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at 7:30am, Freeman was arrested at a relative’s home at 233 Saddlefield Road, 29203. The Sheriff stated that Richland County Sheriff’s Department Fugitive Task Force along with the United States Marshal’s Service arrested Freeman without incident.
The Sheriff stated that sometime between Monday, June 20, 2016 and Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at 301 Percival Road, (Percival Grocery) 29223, Freeman forced entry through the rear of the business. Once inside, Freeman stole $650.00 in Newport cigarettes, $150.00 in cigars, cash, and the cash register for a total of $3,700.00 in items stolen and damage to the property.
Sheriff Leon Lott stated that Freeman has a long history of committing burglaries and is glad to get him off the streets. The Sheriff reminds us to remain vigilant, and to be proactive in our community. When you see anything or anyone looking suspicious, please call law enforcement immediately; it always better to be safe than sorry. Freeman has been transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
