Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott is requesting the community’s assistance identifying two suspects wanted for obtaining goods under false pretense.
Sheriff Leon Lott stated that on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at 321 Killian Road (Walmart) 29203, the suspects scammed a 79 year-old victim out of money after convincing the victim to withdraw funds from an ATM inside the business with the promise of receiving a large amount of money in return. The Sheriff stated that the suspects then escorted the victim to the Wells Fargo Bank located at 8800 Farrow Road, 29203, where the victim withdrew additional funds; the suspects stole a total of $1,300.00 from the victim.
The Sheriff stated that the suspects had no intention of giving the victim a dime, but instead took the victim’s money and fled. The suspects were captured on video surveillance (images below).
Sheriff Leon Lott is asking for assistance in identifying the suspects. To receive up to $1000 for information leading to the arrest of the persons responsible, please call, email or text your anonymous tip to: Crimestoppers at 1-888-crimesc, or text “TIPSC plus your message” to CRIMES (274637).
