RCSD arrests Williams on multiple charges 

Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott announced the arrest of Nikenya Williams (DOB: 07/14/1988) charged with attempted murder, grand larceny, and malicious injury to real property. Richland County Sheriff's Department investigators arrested Williams on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at the 3400 block of Broad River Road (Cypress Run Apartments).

At 8:30pm on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 Williams threw a brick through a vehicle window located at 1011 Beatty Road (Carrington Place Apartments). The owner/victim and an acquaintance walked over to the Richland County Sheriff's Department Region 4 Headquarters to report the incident; Williams followed her over to the location. At this time a deputy was walking out of the building when she used her remote key pad to unlock her running vehicle, Williams who was standing close by jumped into the patrol car and sped off at a high rate of speed intentionally striking the female victim.

EMS arrived and transported the victim to Palmetto Health Richland where she suffered non-life threatening injuries. The Sheriff stated that Williams was located in the parking lot of Cypress Run Apartments on Broad River Road; deputies had to force entry into the vehicle and arrest Williams.
